This is the same as our Inkle Weaving series class, except you will learn your skills in this one-day class. Learn to warp and weave bands on an inkle loom using simple patterns. Inkle Loom purchase required (or bring your own previously purchased loom). Purchase loom at the time of class sign-up.
Inkle weaving is a type of warp-faced weaving where the warp threads are moved up and down, while the weft remains fixed. Using a small, portable, and affordable inkle loom, you can weave a variety of belts, straps, dog collars and necklaces.
Card (or tablet) weaving is one of the oldest and most versatile textile techniques. Its history can be traced back to the eighth century BCE in early Iron Age Europe. Traces have also been found throughout India and the Middle East. This technique uses cards to create the shed through which the weft is passed.
